Holocaust Memorial Day 2018 – the power of words

Calderdale Interfaith Council in partnership with Calderdale Council is commemorating the Holocaust Memorial Day 2018 on Monday, 29 January for  1.00pm – 2.00pm at Crossley Heath School, Savile Park, Halifax HX3 OHG. hmd

For 2018, the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust has chosen the theme, ‘The power of words’.

Crossley Heath School pupils will be participating in the commemorations by displaying artwork, reflecting on the work they have been involved with and sharing poetry.

We are pleased that Rudi Leavor (born 31 May 1926, Berlin, Germany) is a Jewish community leader from Bradford will be attending. Rudi, along with his parents and sister, left Germany for Bradford in 1937, when he was 11, all were refugees, and we hope that he will share with us some of his experiences.

Please note that this is an open invitation to attend and no RSVP is required. The access to the premises is from the main entrance at the school.
