4 Days of Action: Sowerby Bridge clean up…don’t muck about, get involved!

SB-HL

We want our residents to feel pride in their surroundings, whether it’s by keeping the borough clean and safe, joining in with clean up activities or feeling confident that alongside partners, Calderdale Council will not tolerate littering, flytipping, dog fouling or speeding. Our message is simple – Don’t Muck About!

We have now done several focused days of action with partners including West Yorkshire Police and West Yorkshire Fire Service, Together Housing and the Canal & River Trust.

It’s now Sowerby Bridges turn to get some attention and on 21-24 February 2018, we will be out tackling issues such as problem parking, littering, food hygiene standards, flytipping and our teams will be out cleaning and clearing away vegetation.

During the week we will be:

  • tackling speed awareness
  • checking on bars and doing food hygiene inspections
  • litter picking and bin emptying · removing graffiti, jet washing and de-odourising
  • issuing spot fines for littering and dog fouling
  • giving advice on recycling and pest control to residents and businesses
  • checking on air pollution and much more.

Follow what we’re up to and find out how you can get involved on twitter #dontmuckabout
