Easter 2018 in Calderdale
Good Friday, March 30th
Heptonstall Pace Egg Plays and Midgley Pace Egg Plays: traditional Mumming Play performed in Heptonstall’s Weavers Square. Cheer on St George as he takes on contenders such as Bold Slasher, the Black Prince of Paradine and Hector. Violent sword fights predominate but, as ever, good triumphs over evil.
Grand Easter Egg Hunt: at Shibden Estate, Halifax. Organised by the Shibden Estate Friends Group, all proceeds will be used to enhance the Estate.
Easter at Westgate Arcade: Perfect for children and young families, Westgate Arcade is holding an Easter Colouring Competition during the Easter Holidays!
Easter at The Piece Hall: (until 11th April) Easter Crafting, Egg Trails, meet real spring lambs, Chocolate Egg Decorating Workshops and more!
Saturday 31st March
Easter Eggztravaganza at Mount Zion Heritage Chapel: An Easter Egg Hunt in the grounds of the chapel, with a wide selection of crafts in the cottage, followed by a picnic style lunch in the Chapel. with an Easter Bonnet Competition with a prize for the best bonnet!
Brighouse Easter Trail: Follow your trail sheet and collect a letter or number from the 38 participating shops to enter the FREE prize draw. Free treats for children with Easter bonnets or bunny ears (while stocks last).
Easter Monday, 2nd April
Hebden Bridge Easter Duck Race: Duckmania returns to Hebden Bridge as thousands of ducks race down the river, with a variety of entertainment to enjoy throughout the day, including children’s rides, charity stalls and live music from a local bands. (Duck Race starts approx 3.15pm at St. George’s Bridge).
Easter Fun also continues at The Piece Hall with real Spring Lambs and Easter Crafting.
Easter Egg Hunt at People’s Park: Join the fun with a Free Family Easter Egg Hunt, Wednesday 4th April 11am to 1pm at People’s Park, Halifax.
The are Chocolate Egg Decorating workshops at The Piece Hall (Booking is essential as places are limited).
Thursday 5th April
Easter Bunny Fun at Shibden Hall: Join the Shibden Bunny in search of eggs and friends hidden in Cunnery Wood and the grounds, then make a felt Easter-themed craft. (Please note this activity includes a woodland walk which is unsuitable for prams and buggies.)
