Six venues + over 20 acts = one great Comedy Festival! The Halifax Comedy festival is back for a third year from 20th – 28th October 2017. Tickets are on sale now!

See popular comedians such as Lee Nelson, Rob Rouse, Shazia Mirza, Richard Herring; events from the Fringe such as Barbara Nice, George Egg DIY Cook; sing along with the Rocky Horror Picture Show; the kids have a comedy club to enjoy and even Sooty will be making an appearance!

Park ward school children present the Mayor of Calderdale with a neighbourhood plan

Students from Beech Hill School and Mount Pellon Junior & Infant school in west central Halifax, have been working with Park Ward Neighbourhood forum, sharing their ideas about they would like to see in the Park Ward neighbourhood plan.  The schools have been working with  Calderdale Council’s Voice and Influence Team and Halifax Central Initiative, and attended a range of workshops to talk about what they like in Park Ward and what they would like to see more off in their area.

Around 40 young people from both schools have produced a report with their suggestions and findings, and this was presented to the Mayor of Calderdale, Councillor Ferman Ali at the Town Hall.  The young people were given a tour of the town hall and had the chance to visit the Mayors Chamber. For some children this was the first time they had ever visited the Town Hall and were amazed at the building. The children and staff spent a enjoyable afternoon learning about the Town hall and its history. Thank you to the schools for taking part.

Cultural Cooking Class at The Outback Community Kitchen and Garden

Friends Groups – two separate groups one at Little Stars, Parkinson Lane and one at Jubilee Children’s Centre.
