Calderdale Council is looking for people to help distribute thousands of pounds to community and voluntary groups in Calderdale.
The Council’s Small Grants scheme awards funding of up to £2,500 to groups all over Calderdale. In total, £70,000 is awarded each year to a range of community initiatives and voluntary sector projects.
These grants are awarded through a Small Grants Panel, made up of five Calderdale councillors and three representatives from the voluntary and community sector.
These voluntary and community sector representatives are elected for three years, and nominations are now being invited for interested individuals to serve on the panel for 2019 to 2022. Each organisation can nominate one person as a representative.
Calderdale Council’s Cabinet Member for Planning, Housing and Environment, Cllr Daniel Sutherland, said:
“This is a great opportunity for individuals from community or voluntary groups to get involved with the decision making process for the allocation of grants.
“These grants can make a big difference and it’s vital we have representatives from the voluntary and community sector on the Small Grants Panel. I’d encourage anyone interested to get in touch and fill out the nomination form on our website.”

Nomination forms need to be returned by Monday 25 February. Details of all nominees will then be available on the web page, and voluntary and community groups will be asked to vote for the individuals that they would like to see represent them on the Panel by Tuesday 29 March.
