The Great Get Together at Crow Wood Park

Friends of Crow Wood Park & Memory Lane Cafe organised The Great Get Together in Crow Wood Park as part of the series of events taking place up & down the country in memory of Jo Cox.

One of Jo’s friends, Halifax MP Holly Lynch got proceedings underway where families took part in lots of traditional games such as “Hook-a-Duck”, “Tin-Can-Alley”, “Lucky Lolly”, Play Your Cards Right”, “Sack Race”, ” Hula Hoops”, with one brave man agreeing to have wet sponges thrown at him! In glorious sunshine hundreds of people brought their own picnics and those who didn’t were lucky as local Tesco stores provided some food for them free of charge as well as supplying free tea/coffee/juice all afternoon! Live music was provided by the Bradford Ukulele band and it’s a long time since the park has seen an event of this size.

The organisers would like to thank all those who helped in any way including our Halifax Central Community Wardens, Jonny & Zameer.
