On Wednesday 5th April, we ran a special Easter Egg hunt with our Junior Wardens from Beech Hill Primary School in Halifax and Christ Church School, Sowerby Bridge at Crow Wood Park, Bolton Brow. During their time in the park, 60 children from the two schools were mixed up into teams, took part in an egg and spoon relay, then raced against the clock to find 10 Easter egg shaped clues dotted throughout the park, for their chance to win an Easter egg at the end (and of course they all succeeded!). There was even time to spare for the kids (and grown ups) to have a play on the fantastic park and gym equipment!
Sowerby Bridge ward Councillor Mike Payne did the honor’s and presented each child with an Easter Egg, funding for the day came from the ward forum grant.
We would like to say a special thank you to the teachers and schools for taking part, Jonny and Zameer our community wardens for providing the walking buses and to Bob Galtrey for opening up the Pavillon in park for us to use.
