Shroggs Valley regeneration project continues

After slight interval the regeneration project for Shroggs Valley has recommenced.

Part of the Park Ward Neighbourhood Plan, the hope is to fully regenerate this area. The valley which is a former tip, that closed in the 1970’s, is a popular walk way from Park Ward through to Wheatley. In the summer of 2018, the group provided new picnic benches as well as the start of a new pathway from the Hebble Lane entrance, and we are please to announce that the path has now been extended towards the Pellon Road side of the valley.

The path now extends to the bottom of Carriage Drive where it also joins the existing footpath up through the woods to the entrance on Pellon Lane opposite the junction with Queens Road.

The valley is a wonderful wildlife sanctuary and the extended hardcore paving means that residents can walk through the valley and avoid some of the muddiest patches during wet weather periods.

The Neighbourhood Plan has a longer term aim of improving the remaining pathways through this wooded valley for better access and enjoyment of all residents, subject to securing the appropriate funding.

Below are some photos of the extended pathway.
