Last Friday the annual Christmas Lights switch on took place in King Cross.
The event was organised by Halifax Central Initiative and was supported by choir members from both St Paul’s and St Hilda’s churches.
Local shop owners very kindly donated food, drinks and cakes to those taking part and to members of the public; Mother Hubbards supplied fish and chips, Frangoz gave out chicken pieces, the Cake Box kindly donated cakes and cupcakes and the Overgate Hospice Shop provided the singers with hot drinks.
Santa also came along and handed out cornucopias of sweets to everyone. The public joined in the signing and then provided a countdown to the actual light switch on. Everyone said the tree look beautiful and agreed that they had really enjoyed the event.
