Road Safety Talk at Beech Hill School Pellon and Christ Church School Sowerby Bridge

On the 28th November, Neighbourhood Community Wardens Jonny Cato and Zameer Akhtar from Halifax Central Initiative accompanied Dave Manning from west Yorkshire fire services and PCSO Liz Calkeld, attended Beech Hill School and Christ Church School to prepare the children for the road safety in the coming winter months. Dave Manning discussed with the children about how to be safe while out playing, advice on wearing bright reflecting clothing and having lights on their bikes when out and about on dark nights and in bad weather so that the road uses could see them.Road Safety

A mock car accident was set up with table and chairs and children chosen to play the family members in the car, all the class were taught lessons on seat belts, mobile phones, distractions and first aid in a mock crash situation. Lots of questions were asked by the pupils.
