As part of the work of the Halifax RLFC its charity arm the Calderdale Community Coaching Trust / Halifax RLFC Foundation
A Rugby League Heritage Lunch Club has been formed.
The wider aim is to use RL memories, anecdotes, stories and personal experiences of our past players and RL enthusiasts to engage older people in our community to meet, find new and old friends, become less isolated, more confident and have a low cost 2 course lunch….£3.99 in a friendly atmosphere in a central venue. Its further aims are to providing a regular opportunity for people in the local community to come together to share a meal and memories and look at memorabilia, listening to some fascinating stories.
The next lunch club will be on Thursday 1st November 2918 at the Old Post Office pub in Winding Road, Halifax, HX1 1SJ. The time will be from 11:00 till 1:30, with the theme of ” Wembley 1987 ‘ With the principle guest being the referee that day ;
Several of the UK based players have been invited also.
