Law change affects Boothtown planning application

An application has been approved by Calderdale Council’s Planning Committee for the removal of conditions on a site in Boothtown, Halifax. Planning permission was granted for the site on Woodside Road back in 2015 for the demolition of garages and the construction of 14 dwellings which was subject to a number of conditions. The application that appeared before the committee was to remove two of the conditions. The first was for the provision of the need for education and the second was for the provision of open space. It was agreed that the condition for education was not now necessary and although an upgrade to existing public open space would be desirable, the development would still be acceptable without those works.
