Park Ward Heritage Festival: Half Term Activities
Monday 30 October: Views from Wainhouse Tower: Wakefield Gate, Off Skircoat Moor Rd, Halifax HX2 7EN. Free Entry, Tours from 1pm to 3pm.The 253 ft Wainhouse Tower was originally commissioned as a chimney for the local dye works by John Edward Wainhouse in the late 19th century. The structure was never actually used as a working chimney and as such, is regarded by many as one of Britain’s finest follies. An opportunity to see Park Ward and further afield from a great Height. N.B. Please wear suitable footwear. There are 403 steps to the top of the tower.
Wednesday 1 November: Park Heritage Tour 1, Lister Lane – The Gibbet. Meet at Lister Lane Cemetery, Halifax HX1 5LF. Tour starts at 2pm. A guided tour by David Glover. Free
Saturday 4 November : Park Heritage Tour 2, King Cross – QRNC. Meet at the St Paul’s Spire, King Cross Road. Tour starts at 2pm. A guided tour by David Glover. Free

Face Painting: The Learning Studio or Courtyard . 10.30am – 12.30pm & 13.00pm – 15.00pm (Drop-in) Cost: £3. Come and have your face painted – select a spooky design!
- Museums at Night Family Tour :Tours will meet at the Welcome Centre Time slots: 4.30pm, 5.30pm and 6.30pm Cost: Family ticket £20 (2 adults and 2 children) or £6 per person (places are limited, includes a special spiced Georgian hot chocolate!). Meet characters from The Piece Hall’s past for an enchanting mysterious . Hear some of The Piece Hall myths and ghost stories. Bring a torch and wrap up warm!. Booking Essential
