This DEMENTIA AWARENESS WEEK (15th -21st May) your local Calderdale and Kirklees Alzheimer’s Society will be busy raising awareness of Dementia and our services and asking people to confront dementia across towns in Calderdale and Kirklees.
We will kick the events off with our Dementia Roadshow Bus, at Batley Town Hall on Thursday 12th May and Sowerby Bridge Market on Friday 13th May.
During DEMENTIA AWARENESS WEEK each event will involve a sample of our Singing for the Brain sessions, an information stand, and a tree for people to hang their messages confronting dementia, their memories, or anything else you may wish to post. We Have special guests at some of our events including HALIFAX RUGBY FC, WEST YORKSHIRE FIRE AND RESCUE SERVICE and THE ROCK CHOIR.
The messages collected from the tree will be collated and a poem made, which will be read and presented at our final round up event on the afternoon of Tuesday 31st May.
