Bonfire safety and dark night talk at Christ Church School Sowerby Bridge

On the 22nd October the Community Wardens Jonny Cato and Zameer Akhtar fromIMG_0457 the Halifax Central Initiative accompanied by PC David Mayhew, attended Christ Church School, Sowerby Bridge to prepare the children for the upcoming bonfire night and how to keep them  safe on the dark nights. PC David Mayhew discussed with the children about bright reflecting clothing, arriving home on time, and cycling safety and gave out Reflective badges to the children. Wardens Jonny and Zameer delivered a fun presentation on bonfire, Firework and sparkler safety. The whole assembly got involved, children volunteered to hold up pictures and one child was chosen to demonstrate sparkler safely with a high-vis jacket, a pair of gloves and a homemade (pretend) Sparkler! The children learned how to keep themselves safe and seen over bonfire night and winter, and fun was had by all.
