Yes, there’s another bank holiday on the way, and that means the next Out and About is a family day – a chance for you and the kids to get some fresh air and exercise together.

Meet 10 a.m. Monday 5th May at Queens Road Neighbourhood Centre, Queen’s Road, Halifax ( the old school building on the corner of Gibbet Street and Queen’s Road)

Get ready for a walk to a picnic at Wainhouse Tower (bring your own picnic). The tower will be open if you want to pay to go up and see the fantastic view – bring your passports to leisure if you have them to get 50p off.

After lunch you can make your own way back, or stay on for a walk through the woods down to the canal and back, returning to Queens Road for about 2.30 PM. Or you can do even more, and for £3 leave us to join a Calderdale Heritage Walk starting at 2.15 to learn all about Wainhouse himself.

Walking is fun and healthy and it’s free!
