Have you some time to spare tomorrow to clean up your canal?

Saturday 18 May, 10 – 4pm at Salterhebble Locks HX3 0QH

If you are free tomorrow,  join the Canal & River Trust (formerly British Waterways) and partners the Inland Waterways Association and the Calder Navigation Society in a Volunteer Task Day to spruce up the Locks area! All welcome, no experience needed, tools provided. Depending on weather, work could include clearing litter, weeding and cutting back vegetation, or painting. Volunteers are advised to wear stout shoes and old clothes and bring waterproofs. Tea and coffee provided. Come for the whole day (bring a packed lunch) or just for a couple of hours, all help welcome.

Call by to find out how you might help in preserving and enhancing our waterways for the future. The Calder Navigation Society will be bringing their trip boat ‘Savile’, offering short canal trips. Meet in car park by Salterhebble Locks, off A6026 Wakefield Road immediately before junction with the A629.
