If you are free tomorrow, join the Canal & River Trust (formerly British Waterways) and partners the Inland Waterways Association and the Calder Navigation Society in a Volunteer Task Day to spruce up the Locks area! All welcome, no experience needed, tools provided. Depending on weather, work could include clearing litter, weeding and cutting back vegetation, or painting. Volunteers are advised to wear stout shoes and old clothes and bring waterproofs. Tea and coffee provided. Come for the whole day (bring a packed lunch) or just for a couple of hours, all help welcome.
