Calderdale Recovery College have free courses and places available. Below is what’s coming up over the next month.

Do you know someone who is thinking about going back to work? Then this series of courses may just help:

Back by popular demand:

All the above courses are taking place at Hope Street Resource Centre, Hope Street, Halifax, HX1 5DX.

Many of the courses may be able to support professional development and training needs.

 Trainee Family Mentor: 37 hours per week | Calderdale

£16,301.57 per annum, 1 year fixed term contract

We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Trainee Family Mentor committed to working with people from a wide range of backgrounds, improving their opportunities and increasing aspiration within areas of deprivation across Calderdale.

Working with the entire family unit, the ideal person must possess excellent people skills. To be suitable for this role you must be able to communicate with a diverse range of communities and individuals from across the Calderdale borough.

No experience is necessary; however, experience of working within a community setting and with people from disadvantaged groups would be an advantage.

Senior Housing & Support Officer

Happydays UK are looking for a highly organised, compassionate and driven Senior Housing & Support Officer, with experience and knowledge, to deliver high quality person centred services to residents of our group homes in Calderdale and surrounding districts.

Hours:  30 hours per week (to start), includes some weekend and evenings

Salary:  £12.75 per hour, plus agreed expenses

Job Vacancy: Integration Key Worker: Connecting Opportunities

£22,000 per annum (pro rata for part time)

Fixed Term Contract until June 2019

Connecting Opportunities is a new project to increase integration in Leeds City Region by supporting the most socially excluded new migrants to tackle the complex barriers they face in integrating in their local areas, increasing their employability, or finding work. Connecting Opportunities is funded by the Big Lottery and the European Social Fund as part of the Building Better Opportunities programme.

As an Integration Key Worker you will develop and provide a range of tailored services to support socially excluded new migrants and refugees to enable them integrate locally and the wider UK host society.

This will include carrying out engagement work and providing one to one and group based support around a range of areas including; education, employment, cultural orienteering and health in co-operation with a wide range of agencies.

To be suitable for this role you must have experience of providing support to isolated migrants and refugees, possess excellent people skills and be able to communicate with a diverse range of communities and individuals across Calderdale and Kirklees.

You must also be able to demonstrate experience of working within community based settings and with a proven background of offering excellent quality information, advice and guidance.
