Do you want to take a lead role continuing our mission to make our economy in Calderdale more inclusive?
Our Inclusive Economy Strategy is a key part of our partnership approach to delivering our aspirations and meeting the challenges of the 21st Century. As a Council we have set ourselves the ambition to be the Small Business Capital in the North. But we need to do more than this for local people.
This means helping ensure that everyone shares in the benefits of growth, whether this is helping a young person thinking about their future career, someone struggling to find work or needing to re-train, a budding entrepreneur with an enterprising idea, or making sure we take social value seriously when we make investment decisions. Most importantly it’s about working with local people to make sure that what we do is actually going to deliver outcomes that we all want and create an economy that benefits everyone.
As part of this, you will be:
• Managing a small team responsible for successful delivery of our Business Rates Pool (BRP) funded Inclusive Economy Project based in Park and Warley areas of Halifax.
• Developing our Inclusive Economy delvery plan, building relationships and identifying opportunities for improving employment, business support and other services to help deliver an inclusive economy.
• Embedding the learning from the Park and Warley project into our wider work on developing an inclusive economy.
You will be driven, passionate about Calderdale’s future and the Council’s ambitions for our economy to be inclusive. You will bring new ideas, have an interest in economic policy and how the Council can use its resources to greatest affect to deliver these ambitions. You will be a strategic thinker, with strong communication and influencing skills, proven problem-solving abilities, and be adept at managing a multi-disciplinary and high performing team.
Our ideal candidate will have recent experience of successfully supporting a significant project and be familiar with budget monitoring and collaborative working.
