Welcome to the August 2021 Ezine.

Welcome to the August 2021 edition of the Waste and Recycling Ezine.

Our waste and recycling service continues to see the busiest year ever, with the amount of recycling collected at kerbside breaking previous records. we’d like to say a big thank you to residents for your continued patience and support.

We are sorry that some recent collections have been delayed.
This is mainly due to the impact of Covid cases and staff self-isolating, as well as high volumes of recycling. Some recycling rounds may run a day behind or caught up at the weekend. Anything not collected by the end of Sunday will be carried over to your next scheduled collection day. Please help us by making sure your street is accessible to service vehicles – do not park close to junctions or opposite junctions, fold in wing mirrors. On narrow streets, park cars on one side of the road only, against the kerb with wheels straight. If you can take your waste and recycling to the Household Waste Recycling Centres this would help ease delays to collection rounds.

Please do not email customer.first@calderdale.gov.uk or phone the Contact Centre to report missed collections; we know where the work is outstanding and are implementing a service disruption catch up plan. We are sorry for the inconvenience, please bear with us and crews will be with you as soon as possible.

Please do not put any waste from your lateral flow test kits into your recycling. Waste from test kits should be placed in a bag and put in your bin.

Please note that while we are collecting more waste and recycling, crews may start their rounds earlier than 7am.
