HCI community wardens, Zameer Akhtar and Jonny Cato have this week put up new signs in Wadsworth Common Community Garden to advise residents that they will be fined for throwing their food waste out in the Community Garden. This behaviour encourages rats and other vermin to the area. The signs explain that food waste should be recycled.
Whilst carrying out this work, the wardens spoke to a resident who allowed his dog to foul in the garden and walked away without removing it. With the Community Safety Wardens, they traced the resident to their home address and issued a fine for not cleaning up the mess. Our wardens are working together to make Calderdale a safer and cleaner place for us all.
