Special train service to Blackpool
Penistone Line Partnership are organizing a charter train trip this year to Blackpool. The train will be calling at all stations Barnsley to Huddersfield (on the Penistone Line) to Blackpool on Sunday 27th September. The service will also be calling at Brighouse.
Refreshments will be on sale on board, including a real ale bar, with ale provided by local brewery, Mallinsons. Entertainment will also be provided on board.
Blackpool was the UK’s first working class seaside resort, and is still a big attraction for many. This trip will enable you to spend a good few hours in Blackpool, where you can visit one of the many attractions, such as the Sea Life Centre, Madame Tussauds, Blackpool Tower and the Winter Gardens. Thrill seekers can brave the white-knuckle rides of the Pleasure Beach and for those who fancy a trip down memory lane, the Blackpool Tower Eye with its 4D cinema and skywalk give an awe inspiring exploration of the town’s history couple with exhilarating views!
There are miles of unspoilt sandy beaches to treat you to a perfect stroll, a great British picnic or building a sandcastle! For the brave, you may even want to take a dip!

This specially chartered train is an annual event organized by local community rail group, Penistone Line Partnership with a different destination each year. Penistone Line Partnership run several music trains annually, to promote the railway line and raise funds for their own work and other good causes.
