Do you live in the area around Queens Road and Gibbet Street? Then join our group to meet some new people, help us to help the community, and learn new skills!

We are working to create a Welcome Pack for new people moving in, which will help them to settle in and quickly find out all that is good about the area.

Where are the interesting places to go and lovely ways to get there? Where are the great shops? Where are the doctors and chemists? Where can you get advice and help? What wild plants, birds and animals live here too?

If you know the answers to these questions, tell us! You could contribute photos or pieces of writing. You could help by translating information into the non-English languages you speak. You could learn to use radio recording equipment and sound editing software in our Halifax radio studios to record the information we collect. You could join in with our Monday morning walks to record what happens as we go along.

The opportunities are open to all, regardless of age or experience. If you’ve never used a computer, that’s fine – we can teach you, or someone else can do the computer bit (if there is one). Different times and days available to suit you.
