Calling young people in Calderdale to take part in The Wishing Stone, an exciting theatre project this summer!  High Hat Theatre is now inviting groups of young people in the area to join us in June and July for a series of theatre workshops and the chance to perform during Halifax Festival.

We can think of The Wishing Stone as a waymarker on a journey – in these workshops you can explore your own journey – where have you come from, where are you going? What would you take with you? And everyone is welcome to bring to the stone their wishes, their dreams, thoughts and fears.  We will use theatre, masks, movement, and music to create a group piece to be performed at the end that will reflect the group’s imaginings and bring them to a colourful and positive celebration.

The workshops will be free, open to all from ages of 11-19 and will be based at the Orangebox, Halifax and if required, other venues around Calderdale. We particularly welcome young people from a range of backgrounds and cultural communities. The exact dates are to be confirmed but it will be part of the Halifax Festival programme which runs from 28 June to 5 July, so would begin from mid-June.
