‘Give an Hour’ Week!

As part of Youth Work Week, 5 to 13 November, the Boys’ Brigade is the UK’s oldest Uniformed Youth Organisation and it has been providing both Children and Young People with a Sure and Steadfast grounding for them to Anchor their lives to so that they can grow into decent Young Adults.
There are loads of activities and benefits for Young People in the Boys’ Brigade. From the Summer Camp to Learning and Developing their Leadership Skills to fun and games like Football, Laser Quest and so on.
The Halifax Boys’ Brigade would like to invite you to come along and ‘Give an Hour’ along side the 100 or so Current Boys’ Brigade Officers we have.
There are 12 Companies throughout Halifax and Calderdale where you can come along and either just observe what we do or you can get stuck in with the activities that have been planned out.
Recent studies have shown that Young People work well with Structured Activities. The Boys’ Brigade is all about giving the lads some sort of grounding and by giving them a structures set of activities really does help them develop as decent young adults.
There are loads of different activities that we offer the lads, from weekly activities like the games we do to the more serious things where they work towards their badges.
A lot of the lads in the Boys’ Brigade go on to gaining the Highest Award in the Boys’ Brigade which is the Queens Badge. This wouldn’t happen without a great deal of support and time put in by our Officers (Youth Workers).
