Faith Education Volunteers needed

Faith Education Volunteers needed to work with Halifax Minster and Calderdale Inter-faith Council

This is an exciting opportunity for those who enjoy working with children and wish to help children in Calderdale understand the world of faith.  We are looking for volunteers who are willing to share aspects of their faith (any world faith) with school children visiting Halifax Minster as part of an inter-faith visit.  Volunteers will be given full support and training.  Volunteers must be over 16.  The usual checks will be required and volunteers will never be left alone with a group of children.  Visits are run Monday to Wednesday (mainly in mornings), average volunteer time is 6 hrs a month.   If interested please contact us for an application form:  educationofficer@halifaxminster.org.uk or telephone 01422 355 436 and speak to Gillian.

Are you part of a local community group and need to raise some funds?

Community Foundation for Calderdale are offering support sessions for groups to join http://www.Localgiving.com and you just need to email us to find out more. Having your group on Localgiving.com gives you a webpage that you can easily update, where you can ask for volunteers, and importantly ask for donations towards your project. Localgiving.com is specially designed for community groups – including Scouts and Guides, PTA’s, Cricket or Football, Community Associations or Faith based community groups. It allows you to collect donations from people online, and you can get the Gift Aid even if you are not a registered charity. The support you can get locally includes training, one to one support and peer group learning, and we run promotions such as Match Funds or publicity opportunities. Come and see for yourself. Localgiving.com will be at the VAC Funding Fair next week on Wednesday 29th February at the Elsie Whitely Centre. There will be a workshop in the afternoon and we’ll be available to answer questions all day. Contact: Rachel Julian rachelj@cffc.co.uk or call Community Foundation for Calderdale on 01422 349700
