Incredible Farm
Tree, fruit bush and herb planting
Makinholes Bank, Lumbutts, OL14 6JA
Wednesday 22 March
10am – 3.30pm (or anytime in this period).
A Social Enterprise spin off from Incredible Edible Todmorden, their missions is to re-invent skills we will need in the age of climate change. They do this through a myriad of ways: training young people in the skills of growing and marketing food, creating land-based employment, increasing the local food supply and developing sustainable growing methods for our environment.
Incredible farm needs some assistance and volunteers to assist in planting fruit trees, fruit bushes and herbs in forest garden zone. You will be working with other volunteers and Mike, who is managing the farm and the educational project at Incredible Farm.
Mission Details
This does involve some tough terrain (steep embankments) so good mobility is a must. Please bring a packed lunch with you. There is a barn with seating areas and toilet and washing facilities. All tools will be supplied but ensure you wear appropriate clothing and footwear.
It is possible to park on the road near the church, then walk about 150m up a dirt track. There will be animals on the farm and usually a dog or two freely roaming in the farm. The animals are friendly with history of aggression but this is mentioned so those with a fear of dogs are aware.
Incredible Farm are not able to reimburse expenses.
If you wish to volunteer for this activity please either accept on Volunteero or email Kate.hornby@vsialliance.org.uk
