Beech Hill – first new homes available

Together Housing are pleased to announce that the first 20 new build homes on the Beech Hill development in Halifax are due to be completed by mid-April 2023 onwards.

These homes are located towards the bottom of the development, directly next to the main Halifax Police Station off Richmond Road. These first homes are four-bedroom, three storey houses with integrated garage, and two- and three-bedroom two storey houses.

How to apply

The homes will be available for affordable rent and will be allocated through Keychoice – a choice-based lettings system on which eligible people can ‘bid’ for homes they’re interested in.

When you place a bid, you are not bidding with money, you are expressing an interest in a particular home that suits your needs. Housing is allocated based on specific circumstances, so registering interest doesn’t mean you will be guaranteed to be successful.

On registering, you are awarded a ‘priority band’ of Gold, Silver or Bronze based on your current housing circumstances. When you apply for a home, you are placed on a shortlist. Your place on the shortlist is based on your priority banding plus the waiting time you have built up since joining the scheme.

We are also using a Local Lettings Plan on 75% of the allocations across this development which will give some preference to, for example, local families living in Park Ward, families who have work connections in the area and those families needing to either give or receive support from a connected family already living in the area.

Adverts will appear on the Keychoice website.

Adverts on Keychoice

The homes will be advertised on the Keychoice website on the following dates, so it’s very important anyone interested in applying keeps checking this website:

Wednesday 22nd March to Sunday 26th March – these homes will be subject to the Local Lettings Plan requirements.

Wednesday 29th March to Sunday 2nd April – these homes will be open lets available for bids from all applicants.

Once the bidding cycle closes, no further bids will be accepted on these first 20 homes.

We will contact any applicant directly who we are considering for one of the homes, so please do not contact Together Housing for updates. We will not be able to give any information at that point until we complete the shortlisting process.

Please be aware there will be significant interest in these homes.

Further adverts will appear around June/July 2023 when the next homes are due for completion. We will continue to keep you updated on the Beech Hill development.
