Bob Galtrey the co-founder and chair of Friends of Crow Wood Park in Sowerby Bridge was named a Community Champion in this year’s Yorkshire in Bloom Awards, he is one of only 5 volunteers to win this prestigious award in Yorkshire.

His nomination came from the in Bloom judges who inspected the park and were hugely impressed by his knowledge of the park’s history and his dedication and commitment to helping the local community. Halifax Central Initiative would like to congratulate Bob on receiving this award which recognises all his and the Friends of Crow Wood Park’s hard work.

The Friends of Crow Wood Park were also awarded a “Thriving ” commendation in the annual inspection for the “In Your Neighbourhood” section of the awards.
