Specialist Domestic Abuse Practitioner

18.5 hours per week – S01 point 23 – 25 (£27,741 to £29,577 pro rata)
(Temporary contract, funded until 31st March ’23, with potential to extend subject to funding)
WomenCentre is seeking to recruit a Specialist Domestic Abuse Practitioner who can use specialist knowledge, to support work with perpetrators of Domestic Abuse to secure sustainable safety for children, families and adults.
The post holder will be required to act as a specialist resource for colleagues in Early Help working with families experiencing domestic abuse and work alongside colleagues in the Children and Families Service to intervene earlier within families experiencing domestic abuse, be more consistent, committed and creative to prevent the continuation of abusive behaviour.
This is a role in which protection for and with whole families at the earliest opportunity is key to preventing domestic abuse from escalating. Our SDAP is committed to ensuring perpetrator behaviour is understood and challenged.
Using evidence-based intervention, the post holder will support staff in the teams above who will be carrying small caseloads, working with families in order reduce conflict and create safer relationships. The latter will provide consultancy for colleagues to support their work with families experiencing domestic abuse especially, to understand perpetrator behaviour.
