Autumn 2021 Newsletter Welcome to the autumn newsletter for 2021. I can’t believe how quickly the year is passing, must be my age! Autumn is my favourite time of year, looking forward to the leaves changing colour and seeing lots of fungi around. We are lucky in Calderdale to have some valuable hay meadows that not only have a good mix of spring flowers, but also have a wide range of grassland fungi including several different wax caps which are particularly beautiful. Keep your eyes open for them if you are out and about this autumn particularly in the upland areas in the upper Calder Valley around Hebden Bridge and Todmorden. A guide to what to look for can be found here. If you find some, let us know where so we can update our records by emailing countryside@calderdale.gov.uk. |
