Borrowing air quality monitors from Sowerby Bridge Library

This is open to anyone who lives in Sowerby Bridge. The library has indoor and outdoor air monitors for the public to borrow.

To borrow a monitor, you need to ring the library (01422 831627) and book the monitor, saying whether you’d like the indoor or outdoor one. Staff will either tell you straightaway when you’ll be able to collect or they will ring you at a later date.

You will need to be a library member. If you need to join up, you can do this here:

When you come to collect, as well as your library card (if you already have one) you will need to bring recent proof of address and there will be a loan agreement form to complete. That’s all – and you’ll then be able to take the monitor away for 3 weeks and start experimenting.

You will be able to collect a hard copy version of a guidance booklet when you collect the monitor – and there is also a children’s activity booklet, suitable for round about the 9-12 age group, if you have children/grandchildren etc of that age. We would love families to experiment with the monitors together.

We will be offering zoom meetings throughout the period monitors are available, for you either to find out more in advance of borrowing or to talk about your experience with the monitor and ask any questions you have about using them.

The first meetings will be:

Saturday 13th March, 11am – 11.40am

Wednesday 17th March, 6pm – 6.40pm

If you would like to join one of these sessions, please email  stating which one, and we will send out the zoom invitation.

Note that they will be informal meetings, not webinars, so we will be sitting round having a real-time conversation.
