Calderdale Libraries’ Something in the Air? project is about to launch!
It’s funded as part of the national Engaging Libraries 2 programme and aims to engage local people of all ages, in Sowerby Bridge, with research around air quality and health. The project is supported by researchers at the University of Manchester.
Between March and September, there will be a series of free events you can attend. If you live in Sowerby Bridge, you will also be able to borrow and experiment with two types of portable air quality monitor, for measuring indoor and outdoor air quality, and to share and discuss your findings.
Our first event will be held on Zoom on Wednesday March 3rd at 7pm. We will be in conversation with Dr Mark Broomfield, author of ‘Every Breath You Take: A User’s Guide to the Atmosphere’. Mark will talk about his book, his own air quality journey, surprising facts about air quality and why it matters to us in Sowerby Bridge in 2021. Book your free ticket via Eventbrite. If you’d like to join our mailing list, to receive a digital copy of our introductory leaflet and to be the first to hear about events and opportunities available through the project, please drop us an e-mail at: firstname.lastname@example.org
