CALDERDALE INTERFAITH COUNCIL
WOULD LIKE TO INVITE YOU TO THE
HOLOCAUST MEMORIAL DAY 2021 COMMEMORATION EVENT
Hosted by the Calderdale Interfaith Council, the Holocaust Survivors Friendship Association, and Calderdale College.
Monday 25th January at 1:00pm – 3:00pm

The theme for Holocaust Memorial Day (HMD) 2021 is ‘Be the light in the darkness’. It encourages everyone to reflect on the depth’s humanity can sink to, but also the ways individuals and communities resisted that darkness to ‘be the light’ before, during and after genocide.
The Event will include:
• Cllr Dot Foster, Mayor of Calderdale and chair of the Interfaith Council, to speak
• A testimony from Ms. Trude Silman, followed by a Q&A session
• Holocaust Survivors Friendship Association (HFSA) to speak
• Revd Canon Hilary Barber, vice chair of the Interfaith Council, to speak.
• Rudi Leavor to speak and lead the chant of the “El Malei Rachamim”
• Reciting the Peace Prayer
