As we enter another national lockdown the foodbanks in Calderdale will once again be a source of help and support for many people in our communities. However the food banks themselves need our support and donations.
There is a general shortage of tinned foods and other basic items like nappies and wipes. Although, each food bank has its own requirements and policies
All food donations will be very gratefully received by the food banks to help them top up their supplies. Please contact your local food bank to find out how you can donate. The contact details are here.
If you are planning to drop off food at a food bank, please do this safely and:
- In line with the Government guidance on staying at home and away from others, to protect yourself and other people.
- Make your trip part of your shopping trip for essentials.
- Before you go, check the food bank’s arrangements for social distancing.
Small donations can be made via trollies in local supermarkets, which are for local food banks.
Details of large donations from companies and businesses should be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org. Arrangements will then be made for their drop-off/pick-up. This will make sure it goes to the areas where it is needed most.
Visit the Council’s webpage to see what items are most needed
Please note: Donations of baby/infant formula cannot be accepted
