Bankfield Museum will be open again from Tuesday 27 October.
We are still FREE entry, but please book tickets online in advance through our website and we look forward to welcoming you back! BOOK TICKETS

 

Bankfield Museum is opening with a new free exhibition- The Grand Tour, featuring some of our finest paintings. Find out more about The Grand Tour.

You can also see our Photographic Memories exhibition at Bankfield Museum featuring photographs of the region and collections by Fay Godwin and Martin Parr.

The Fashion Gallery will also open again on the 27th, and currently includes Charlotte Brontë’s ‘Thackeray Dress’ and costumes from the Brontë drama To Walk Invisible, on loan from the Brontë Parsonage until Christmas.

Museums Go Live!

We’ve been busy developing virtual education sessions for schools on Victorian life, Anne Lister, The Tudors, The 1940s, Life in the Trenches, Neil Armstrong, the Great Fire of London, Florence Nightingale and a range of art projects. Find out more.

Smith Art Gallery is OPEN!

Smith Art Gallery in Brighouse is also open to visitors. The galleries feature many of the Museum Service’s oil paintings and the Town Through Time exhibition, showcasing paintings and photography of Brighouse. FREE ENTRY.

Shibden Hall closed from 19 October

Shibden Hall will be closed from Monday 19 October for filming. Keep an eye on our website and social media @ShibdenHall for updates on future openings.
Shibden Park remains open and has been a public park since the 15 October 1926!
