Before the Bypass – A walk around King Cross

The King Cross Local History Group are leading a walk around King Cross. King_Cross_Local_History_Group_Walk_2_tiny_png

27 October 2019 – 11:00 to 12:30, this event is free.

We will visit part of the area that many will remember before it was cleared of the rows of terraced houses and courtyards around Haugh Shaw Road.

Included in the visit is one of those courtyards where Laura Annie Willson MBE (the local Suffragette) lived as a child.

We will:

  • look at how the massive increases in population affected the built environment;
  • remember the community amenities, which served that population;
  • as well as some of the older aspects of the area.

To book a place, please ring Linda or Graham on  07884 454017 or 01422 203417 or email
