Our Communities Award 2017: Lifetime Achievement – WINNER ANNOUNCED!

WINNER: John White

Described as the most cheerful, friendly hardworking individual by those who know him, John White works hard in all aspects of Community life, especially with the elderly.

He is a member of Warley St John’s church, and the Warley Community Association and has been involved with both of these for many years whilst also finding the time to work for the Ebenezer drop-in centre.

Through his work at the church, John gets involved with the local schools and the uniform groups (brownies, cubs etc.) and helps to organise Tea Parties and Outings and acts as a chauffeur for doctor and hospital appointments for the elderly.

John has been secretary of the Warley Community Association for the last 3 years and is always one of the first to get involved with any projects which are taking place in the Community.

He works hard to make sure everything runs smoothly and everyone is enjoying whatever event or experience they are attending. He  regularly gets involved with village clean-up days, where he is usually one of the first to arrive and also the last to leave.

Whatever the weather, John always has a smile on his face and we are pleased to announce that he is this years deserved winner of the 2017 Lifetime Achievement award.
