0n Thursday 7 March, Halifax central celebrated International women’s day with a big community get together promoting local services and activities.Over 60 ladies from the central Halifax area came together to celebrate International women’s day 2013. Our theme was empowering women and many ladies brought photographs with them of women who had inspired or empowered them. Local services from the Domestic Abuse Partnership, Victim Support, Neighbourhood Schemes GupShup, Upbeat Families, West Yorkshire Fire Service and Pennine Housing came along to provide information and help celebrate the day. Volunteers were demonstrating the benefits of threads and we had a long queue of ladies wanting to have this old style hair removal.

Many of the ladies from our diverse communities came together and joined in with our community Zumba class that runs here at Queen’s Road every Thursday at 1.00pm.
