Communities are invited to come together on a day of joy and great pride, to welcome back the soldiers of the 3^rd Battalion The Yorkshire Regiment (Duke of Wellington’s) to their home town of Halifax. A special homecoming parade is taking place through Halifax town centre on Tuesday 4 December 2012, starting at 11.40am. People are encouraged to line the streets to show their support and thanks to the troops following their return from a six-month tour of duty in Afghanistan. There will also be inspiring speeches at the Piece Hall (12 noon) and a homecoming service at Halifax Minster (1.30pm). For more information go to Welcoming home our troops.
