A virtual makeover for your street

A virtual makeover for your street
Some clever computer coders have designed a website which enables you to grab an image of your street from Google Streetview, and add in some ‘neighbourhood bling’ like trees, play equipment, benches and bike racks. Then you can send the results to friends, neighbours and local groups to get them talking about making it happen for real.  The website is called http://blockee.org/ and was designed by Codeforamerica.org who help governments ‘work better for everyone with the people and the power of the web’. Even though it was designed in the US it works in any country covered by Google Streetview.  Here’s an example from a street in South London.
