Back Le Bid – Bring the Tour de France to Yorkshire!

The bid to bring the Tour de France to Yorkshire is gaining momentum.

A public campaign called Back le Bid has been launched to enable people to support ‘le bid’.

We have already received the support of top British cyclists Mark Cavendish, Ben Swift and Ed Clancy and now we need yours.

Yorkshire has a cycling heritage unrivalled anywhere in the UK. We have had more stage wins in the Tour de France than Scotland, Wales, Ireland and England and as home to men like Brian Robinson, the first British rider to win a stage of the Tour de France in 1958, and Barry Hoban, an eight-time stage winner on Le Tour, we have some of the Tour de France’s heroes.
Welcome to Yorkshire, Marketing Leeds and the Leeds City Region want to pay tribute to those men and at the same time inspire a new generation of cyclists to emerge from the county to compete in the world’s largest annual sporting event. With your help we can make that happen.
