There’s still chance to volunteer to be part of the next global sporting event – the Rugby League World Cup 2013 (RLWC2013).
RLWC2013 has announced that the deadline for the expression of interest to become a volunteer has been extended until 31 August 2012.
RLWC2013 kicked off its search for 500 volunteers in June 2012. Organisers have seen unprecedented demand for information on the volunteer roles and want to allow additional time, so that those that have not already done so can get a chance to put their names forward.
The lucky 500 volunteers will work across the tournament in various disciplines, in all of the host communities.
RLWC2013 Operations Director Jon Dutton, said:
“The feel good factor from London 2012 has been huge and without a doubt the Games Makers are real stars. We want to ensure that people who have missed out on the Olympic and Paralympic Games or who have been unable to volunteer are given a chance to do so for the next global sporting event in their home town or city … We have some great opportunities for people to be involved in RLWC2013 and we have been extremely impressed by the volume of interest at the first stage of the process.”
In September this year everyone who has registered will receive an application pack containing details of the 18 unique volunteer roles. The pack will also outline the process and the benefits package available to successful volunteers.
To be a volunteer you must be over the age of 18 as at midnight on 1 July 2013.
Please note however that applications are open to under 18s for special field of play opportunities.
Anyone interested in volunteering can either email info@rlwc2013.com or call 0844 887 1750 for details of how to apply.
