Volunteer – Support Assistants are wanted for CHOICE – Supported Volunteering Project, breaking down barriers to volunteering.
Support Assistants are trained to offer companionship and support to enable someone to become involved in voluntary work. You will be working with adults with a variety of support needs (including mental health, physical disabilities, learning difficulties, and sensory impairments, asylum seekers) to enable them to volunteer in the activity of their choice. Support assistants should be reliable, friendly and empathetic, non-judgemental and have good communication skills. You must be committed to supporting at least one volunteer after training.
The 4 day training course is on 3,4,11 and 12 July and applicants will need to attend all four days. If you would like to apply for the July training, please contact Audrey Smith on 01422 348777/07929 291249 email: choice@cvac.org.uk by 7 June
