New Address: Basement House 10 Carlton Street Halifax HX1 2AL
Our new recovery centre is about feeling sociable and able to engage, and having a stake in the place where you come to get well. It’s a place where you would want to bring your loved ones, a place that reduces the shame and stigma you may feel around your addiction, and it’s a place that you would want to spend time working in. It’s a place where the energy and sense of hope pervades the whole environment and atmosphere. Basement House, first and foremost represents a safe, welcoming and dignified environment. Those who have already come through the doors speak of a calmness, a sense of belonging and a sense of ownership – all the things that promote and support a person’s recovery from addiction.
We will be holding an Open Day soon where you will have a chance to look around and talk to staff and clients about what makes Basement House so unique. We shall also be offering community space, with kitchen facilities, meeting room and communal area for rent. We’ll circulate a date for your diaries in the new few weeks.
