A new Localgiving.com Match Funding Challenge will commence on May 14 2012. A pot of £17,500 will be available locally to match donations made to groups and charities through Localgiving.com. Any single group with a live webpage on Localgiving.com can match up to £1000 of donations (i.e. if a maximum £1,000 is donated it could be doubled up to £2,000). The pot of matched funding will be distributed strictly on a “first come: first served” basis until the pot of £17,500 is gone. Demand is likely to be high, so groups who are already registered with Localgiving.com are advised to encourage donors to act as quickly as possible when the scheme commences.
