Be Bike Aware – a campaign to raise awareness of each road user’s responsibility to look out for motorcyclists and cyclists. 1 in 3 road injuries in Calderdale involves a bike. In 2011 there were 57 motorcyclists injured – up from 43 in 2010 (the lowest ever recorded). 80% of these casualties happened during the week, at peak commuting times. 44 cyclists were injured, also at peak times – a big increase from the 29 recorded in 2010.
