Seven parks in Calderdale are in the running for the Green Flag People’s Choice Award – Shibden Park, Wellholme Park, Manor Heath Park, People’s Park, Ogden Water Country Park, Clay House Park and Bailiff Bridge Memorial Garden. To help your favourite Calderdale park to make the UK’s top 10, simply cast your vote – visit www.greenflagaward.org, select your country/region on the interactive map to find your park and click the ‘vote for this park’ button.
Voting is now open for the UK’s most welcoming theatre award and the Victoria Theatre is in the running again. Please vote at https://uktheatre.org/vote/, where you can also enter a competition to win £200 worth of theatre tokens. Voting closes on Tuesday 19 September 2017
Oyez, Oyez, Woolshops to host second Town Crier Competition!
On 7th May, Woolshops will host its second town crier competition in conjunction with Halifax town crier, Les Cutts.
Criers will participate in two rounds throughout the day and will be judged on their confidence, bearing, diction, inflection, accuracy, volume and clarity.
Shoppers will also be able to visit a pop-up vintage café which is being run in conjunction with Pass It On and the Imperial Crown hotel, and street food from Ispice
