Leadership in Running Fitness Course

Do you fancy becoming a Leader… Run Leaders Required!!

The Leadership in Running Fitness (LiRF) course addresses barriers to participation in running finding ways of appealing to those not traditionally attracted to running clubs.

Would you love to get more of your friends running?  Perhaps you already take a running group for a club and want to help them improve?  Maybe a few of you at work run at lunchtime but you would like to make your training more enjoyable and purposeful.  The leadership in Fitness course is designed for people just like you!

Once qualified, you’ll have the skills and insurance needed to deliver fun and safe sessions to groups of runners with different abilities, including new runners and those who already run but want to progress.

You will also be able to register your running group, whatever form it takes, as an Official Run England group.

Benefits include:

  • 1 day course (no assessment)
  • The course will cost £30.00* instead of the usual £110.00!!!which includes Insurance.   All the training needed to start a group * conditions apply; We would like them to set up a running group which should operate for 10 weeks (it would great if they want to carry on afterwards) at least.
  • Potential income from charging £1 – £2 per person
  • Promotional materials provided

The canal volunteers will be returning to Mearclough on the Calder & Hebble Navigation on Friday 30th March, to complete the clean-up started there last month – preparing towpath accesses for wildflower and bulb planting, and painting benches and clearing litter back towards the Wharf. All welcome, for all or part-day.
